Steve Crowder, MA, LPC-Supervisor, CSAT

Clinical Director- Adolescent Program

Steve have been counseling adults, adolescents, families, couples, addicts and their partners since 1994. He started in substance abuse and addiction and in 2009 was certified as a sex addiction therapist. He believes trauma comes in many forms and healing begins when clients begin to make authentic connections with others through loving, non-judgmental support and guidance. He believes we are all inherently loveable and loving, but had to develop survival tools in dysfunctional families that no longer serve us. He uses an eclectic, client-centered, solution focused approach that helps my clients begin to develop new tools for living. Steve is an addictions counselor/therapist with over 21 years' experience, and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist trained by Dr. Patrick Carnes in a task centered approach. He also learned from Pia Melody and Dr. John Bradshaw about the power of shame messages in childhood how they unconsciously drive addictive behavior. He lets the situation of client "steer" the course of treatment in some ways but positive outcome requires that the client be willing to follow some validated guidelines around honesty, accountability, creating a healthy support system, and achieving balance. New Dimensions Day Treatment Centers is elated to have Steve Crowder as the Director of the Adolescent Program.
